Everyone knows it’s Windy

When hearing “that’s why they call it the Windy City!”, Chicago nerds, like myself, love to point out that the nickname originated as a reference to the hot air of the city’s politicians than it did to the physical wind off the lake. In one of the random rabbit holes I found myself today, it seems the nickname originated as a reference to both the wind off the lake and the hot air of it’s residents.

For a quick read, check out the wikipedia here. For a little bit more of a read, check out this Tribune blog post.

If all three of you that read this site already knew that, I apologize for wasting your time; it was a little bit of a mind blow for me.

Also, why make a reference in the title to something totally different and not include that? (and every post seems to require a youtube embed).
