The Slow Drag

There are many posts linking to a blog called Dr Mooney 115th Dream because there it had a lot of posts about amazing music on there. I was bummed that there hadn’t been a new post in a very long time, till I found the blog in the form of a tumbler account, The Slow Drag. Right away, I am listening to a version of Ain’t Superstitious by the Jeff Beck Group (Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Mick Waller) and looking at a picture of Hendrix playing with Wilson Pickett.

Buried Treasure

Sound Opinions had a great episode on “Buried Treasure” where they talked about bands that are worth mentioning that probably don’t get enough shout outs on the show otherwise.

Django Django is an psychedelic band from England that is worth a listen. They played Default on the show, which is by far their best one.

Black Belles. Mike probably knows all about this band because of they are on Third Man Records. And because they do a bitching cover of Lies. (I thought it was posted before by Kevin or Nora but I can’t find it) Stephen Colbert’s interview with Jack White ended with him on the doing a song with them. Goth Garage is it is appropriately described. So give them a listen if you haven’t already.

Seth Macfarlane. SNL. That is all.

So I watched the SNL from this past weekend, and Seth Macfarlane’s monologue was entertaining, mainly because he did other voices after he pandered out the Peter Griffin, Stewie, and Quagmire for a minute. My favorite part, however, was his impersonation of Ryan Lochte, which I thought was hilarious, especially after seeing the previous post of Ryan Lochte’s terrible interviews.

I’m still having trouble posting the link and the video, so here’s the address.
