Wonderful World of Research

I remember how cool it would have gone to school at and work as an animator for Disney. Now it seems that Pixar, also now a Disney company, is such a fun job. Just stumbled on two posts via NotCot that leads me to think how fun being at Disney Research would be.  There is the Computational Design of Mechanical Characters:

With 3d printing becoming much more ubiquitous, the printing of fiber optics with it seems to open even more possibilities: Papillon: Expressive Eyes for Interactive Characters. Or having a different tactile sensation from a glass screen with TeslaTouch.

Why not enjoy the cooler parts of this technology before all this becomes self aware and destroys us.

If you can get the link to work, yes, that’s a yellow interior, electric blue wavy ceiling with an exterior featuring Spongebob and friends plastered all over the outside. It’s horrible.

Finally, there’s this:

Just when you thought you were all Thicke’d out…here’s my contribution to the “song of the summer” (debateable?)

As Tosh.0 blog suggests: “Somehow this makes sense”:
