Nerds!

I have made this pitch before but now that I am home to bully people into doing this with me so I’m going for it again. EdX is one the massive open online course platforms. They have free classes from lots of the larger universities across the country in all kind of subjects. So if anyone is interested in taking them with me we could really nerd it up together. Some of the more exciting classes I’m testing out include: ‘Terrorism and Counterterrorism,’ ‘History, Politics, and Policy of US Education,’ and ‘War for the Greater Middle East.’ Consider it prep for the Slate News Quiz, Jeopardy, or bar trivia. Also, Dot Com will be there.

There has been a lot of coverage of…

There has been a lot of coverage of the non-English members of the UK lately including the NATO summit in Wales marking Obama as the first American president to visit the small nation that hates vowels and the upcoming vote on Scottish independence. The vote, to take place on Thursday, is said to be very close. Once again John Oliver delivering some hilarious coverage. Beside David Cameron being extremely polarizing, Tony Blair spoke out in support of Scotland remaining a part of the UK. As my Scottish and Welsh friends said if they weren’t voting for or supporting independence before Tony Blair’s comment certainly drove them to it.
