Bobby!

After just talking to Kevin about how great Bob’s Burgers continues to be (including things like the blog that creates recipes to the pun-named burgers on the chalkboard of the restaurant, to the how the producer/artist of the show, Tony Gennaro, creates a custom cover for each script, to just the detailed blog about the show that was talked about before), this week’s holiday show was amazing.
After trying to look up a clearer version of Gene’s favorite holiday song, Jingle in the Jungle, I found a post mentioning how Linda’s fascination with the Christmas tree could be a reference to a popular video with John Roberts doing what was to become the voice of Linda back in 2006. Fucking hilarious:

No Hits and Hits

One of my favorite parts of Greg Proop’s podcast, Smartest Man in the World, is when he tells baseball stories, even though I am not the biggest baseball fan. I have mentioned it before, but there is a hilarious story about Bob Gibson telling Tim McGarver to get back behind the plate by saying (him paraphrasing, probably) “if you knew anything about batting you would be a better hitter.”
The story that he mentioned in a recent one was about Doc Ellis, a pitcher in the 70’s, who threw a no-hitter in while on LSD. When I went to look up more info on him, I found this awesome video:

Party Games

From a Chicago guy who gave an interesting talk at Creative Mornings not long ago about the bs behind “do what makes you happy” mantra comes two games that may make Christmas a little more interesting. He put out fun and simple game called Cards Against Humanity which seems fairly interesting and available for download for free. He is also behind a new game called Clusterfuck!, a card game involving passing each other sexy notes, and the website promoting it called The Twelve Days of Holiday Bullshit. This entertaining video was from day one:
