The story of Bittersweet Symphony has a lot of drama attached to it. Using a sample from the symphonic version of Rolling Stones’ The Last Time, The Verve, the Rolling Stones and Andrew Oldham have been suing each other up until as recently as last year.
So it should be a surprise to no one that Jason Derulo couldn’t get the sample cleared. It got replaced with different instrumentation in the actual release, but I really like this demo version:
I love love love Spotify, but I frequently find get reminded of songs that I haven’t listened to a while. One reason (of many) being that they are not on Spotify. So to try to end the current drought of posts here on ole Brucey B, how about a couple posts with those songs.
