So I found this gem on reddit. Apparently someone dove through the audio commentary on the Star Wars prequels and came upon a George Lucas snidbit on Kevin Smith’s “Clerks” joke about galactic contractors for the Death Star. Conveniently they uploaded said “Clerks” clip followed by the Star Wars commentary:
