As the temperature drops (along with my bank balance) I find myself confined to home on a more regular basis.  Seeing as how I have little to do on a blustery winter day I turn to my TV to entertain me.  But since the ol’ girl only gets 5 channels it is no easy task to keep me satisfied.  That is until my dial flips to PBS, it is there that my thirst for knowledge is quenched.  Throughout the weekend I was able to see a Bob Dylan concert, numerous cooking shows and, quite possibly my new favorite show, History Detectives.  So if you haven’t tuned in since Sesame Street I suggest you give it another go.  PBS is sure to please no matter what you’re looking for. 

I was recently talking to someone about their favorite president and couldn’t really think of who mine would be.  Today, that question was answered with these posts.  If these are all true, then Andrew Jackson was a real badass (If you can look past having slaves, hating the indians, and some other trivial stuff).  I am not advocating deciding court cases with a pistol duel, but if the USA network has taught me anything (and it hasn’t), its that I love drama and action.  And the A-Jax Story is full of it.  El Santo at Rooktopia has done more research on this topic.

I know that of the few people that regularly read this blog, a Golden Girls post would have some fans.  I stumbled upon this Mental Floss post via Pop Candy and immediately thought of Kelly and Ellen’s fascination with this show.  Not much else to say about this except that I found it funny that they gave Estelle an excuse for being vulgar because she had a stroke that had “destroyed the part of her brain that acted as a censor.” Check it out here.
