Most of you have probably heard this already, but Neil Diamond has a holiday album with a cover of Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah Song. Besides the general strangeness of covering the song, it is very bizarre that he feels the need to change “tom cruise isn’t, but I think his agent is” to “…but Jesus Christ is.” Also bizarre that he felt the needed to say “don’t smoke your marijuanica.” But if that wasn’t enough, he does a song called “Cherry, Cherry Christmas” where he takes the names of all his popular songs and inserts them into a new song about the holidays. You can check them out at the hype machine or his myspace.

If anyone doesn’t have plans for New Years, I will be dj-ing at Vaughan’s Pub. Tickets are $45 per person, it includes a premium open bar, appetizer buffet, party favors and a champagne toast. You can buy the tickets online and they have discounts for groups of ten or more. So who’s in?

Stereogum does a user voted year-end-wrap-up that resembles the MTV Movie Awards with categories like “Indie Rock Crush.” One category, “Best Web Videos,” is actually worthwhile. Check out how out of touch you are just in the last year (or maybe how ‘with it’ you are). If you haven’t seen the Cleveland Tourism video, I recommend you do. Also, I thought the SNL sketch about the Underground Festival was pretty funny without knowing that it was a parody of this video.
If those don’t strike yer fancy, then how about something from Barbara Walter’s year end “Fascinating People” list? Except for the bizarre question about her sexuality, this video of Babwa Wawa and Rady Gaga is not that interesting of an interview. Although it is worth it to hear Barbara say “Bluffin with my muffin.” Via MOKB.
Ten days to go until my last final, the 18th. Perfect time to find ways to procrastinate on the interweb. December on Hot Chicks with Douchebags means its time for yearly awards, the Douchies. Some are clever, like “Best Golden Globes,” and others are kind of a stretch, like “Most Deserving of a Trashcan to the Head.” Nonetheless, I’m hooked. Past awards in 2007 and 2008. And as if Hulu didn’t distract me enough with So I Married an Axe Murderer, they definitely made it worse by putting 3 seasons of MST3K on the website. I think the Travers family has Christmas season cut out for us. But blogging makes me tired, and hungry. Time to order some Fat Sandwich. Fat Milf with pizza bites. Mmmmm.
