Through the Grapevine
Friday Fun Stuffs!?!
- I don’t know how this happened, but Bobby beat me to hearing the new Strokes song. You can download on their site, in it’s entirety now.
- Neil showed me the new Black Keys video for Howlin’ For You.Â I enjoy that they have gotten big enough that they can do whatever they want; and that that they don’t take themselves to seriously now that they are this big.
- No one told me about this, I just found out how Xtina screwed up the national anthem yesterday.
- Pop Candy let me know that the new Lemmy documentary is on VH1 Classic tonight.
- It/she also let me know about the trailers for X-Men: First Class and the Arthur remake.

Rollo-Over

In a somewhat continuation of the Folk-y/Sting-y/Acoustic mood I have been in lately, Â I have some more music I wanted to share. Â I was pretty stoked with Old Crow Medicine Show’s Wagon Wheel, and am now equally stoked about Angel from Montgomery, whichÂ I learned was a John Prine cover from a recent tribute album. Â (Rollo&Grady just put upÂ “Lets Talk Dirty in Hawaiian” covered by Those Darlins.) Â I guess recommending John Prine is like recommending Steve Goodman or Tom Waits (many people have heard of that person and probably know a song or two), but if you don’t know a lot of John Prine, a couple great jems include Dear Abby, Angel from Montgomery, and Spanish Pipedream.

While I was satisfied with this great cover of the Paul Simon song Graceland, it wasn’t till another post about the best songs of 2010 that I really investigated The Tallest Man On Earth. Â Definitely check out King of Spain.

Much ado about Meat

After length discussions about The Bacon Explosion with Mike, I felt it necessary to post about Epic Mealtime, a series of meat/bacon centric cooking videos that Neil found and I have been obsessed with.Â My view of Canadians isn’t so bleak anymore.Â You should probably watch the rest of the videos on their youtube channel; I was trying to figure out the best video to put up as a sample, but they are all so good.Â Including the breakfast one:
