- Maybe a little too graphic design-ish for this blog, but I thought this Type Safari video, where a guy critiques signs around NY in a jeep, was pretty cool.
- Same with this video from Aaron Draplin about designing and collecting.
- While researching projects to do with HTML5, I ran across this great landing page with a dancing flamingo. Make sure to try and disable the sound with the left button.
- Which lead me to this micro-site for the Over the Hills EP by the Dead Pirates. The band is actually pretty good, check out their bandcamp.

Blue Yourself

I like facts. NPR put together a slideshow/presentation of color facts worth checking out. For example, did you know that matadors didn’t choose red for their capes because it makes bulls angry; bulls are colorblind. It is to hide the blood on the matadors. Read some more here.

WWDTM behind the scenes.
Also, been hating on Shia LeBeouf for some years now, but his arrest story is truly worth a watch.

Nerds!
I have made this pitch before but now that I am home to bully people into doing this with me so I’m going for it again. EdX is one the massive open online course platforms. They have free classes from lots of the larger universities across the country in all kind of subjects. So if anyone is interested in taking them with me we could really nerd it up together. Some of the more exciting classes I’m testing out include: ‘Terrorism and Counterterrorism,’ ‘History, Politics, and Policy of US Education,’ and ‘War for the Greater Middle East.’ Consider it prep for the Slate News Quiz, Jeopardy, or bar trivia. Also, Dot Com will be there.
