In the process of setting up my new smartphone (yes it has indeed taken this long for me to get a smartphone) my eyes have been ever more open to all that the internets has to offer. For shits and giggles I decided this would be a good opportunity to explore the rabbit-hole known as Tumblr (there’s an app for that). I’m assuming most have a somewhat basic understanding of it so I won’t get into too much of it here. Also, I feel as if I myself have scratched just the surface. In this beginning though I though it best to ease myself into this world with people I’m familiar with, namely the Green Brothers (of youtube/vlogbrothers fame, one of which is John Green who you might notice on here as the Mental Floss list guy). This shining example however comes from his brother Hank Green’s tumbler:

Another day post of stuff that didn’t necessarily deserve it’s own post:

• Via Swiss Miss: Check out these pancakes.
• Also via Swiss Miss: I like when being confirmed in my distaste for Facebook.
• Watch a anti-fracking ad from Britain because it involves cartoon farting. Almost as good as the wanking London.  Via TO.
• Wanna see a short clip of Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix for the biopic? It’s a real tease, but I clicked it to see, so maybe you will find it worth it.
• I like Tame Impala and Kendrick Lamar.  How about a song with both of them?
• I think album trailers are bullshit, but I did click it, so you probably want to also hear an album trailer for Julian Casablancas’ new album.
• Game of Thrones mixtape?  Featuring Big Boi, Common and Daddy Yankee?
• Mark Wahlberg in the new Transformers, huh?
• Another week, another mental floss video worth watching.
• I have always wondered why this candle that melts into a new candle didn’t exist already. Vis SM.

Oscar fever; my pick and statistical pick for best picture. Its hilarious:

I’ve linked to the blog Soul-Sides before because the author, Oliver Wang, is an amazing authority on soul music. He released two collections of amazing soul cover songs on cds through Zealous Records called Volume 1 and Volume 2. Volume 1 has my favorite cover of What A Man by Linda Lyndell. Volume 2 is where I originally found Al Green’s cover of the Beatles I Want To Hold Your Hand. Volume 3 isn’t being issued on cd; the reasoning why and link to download the collection can be found on the blog.
