    I get most of my political info from Maria, and this is no different.  A lot of people purchase plots before they die, but Illinois’ newest senator apparently already has his gravestone erected there with all of his achievements.  I’m sure that being the first African-American to be a SIU exchange student to the University of Hamburg Germany is great, but probably not gravestone great. I don’t know how this will affect him being a senator, but… another job well done, Rod.

    I found a pretty funny article (and by found I mean religiously read this site) about how some of the best movies of all time almost became the next (insert reference to blockbuster bomb here, i.e. Pluto Nash, The Day The Earth Stood Still, and any Kevin Costner movie after Robin Hood). Well any way I think I used up my parenthesis quota for the day so check out the article.

  • Dan Auerbach

    img_0429.JPGNeil just pre-ordered the cd from Dan Auerbach and after listening to whats been released already, I am excited to hear the rest of that cd.  Dan is one half of Rachel’s new favorite band, The Black Keys, and is coming out with a solo cd, Keep It Hid, on February 10.  Its not as good as the Black Keys stuff, but still great.  Hype it or Myspace it.

    Also exciting is who he is touring with because the other great thing about Dan is his involvement with other great bands.  If you like the Keys stuff, please listen to Hacienda and Those Darlins (Wild One is pretty addictive).  Though she isn’t touring with him, also listen to Jessica Lea Mayfield.  He produced her latest cd that has had a place on many people’s year end top album lists.
