30 Days of Night

I know I’ve been a little lax on the movie reviews lately but I haven’t seen anything worthy of the Bruce.  However, if you are keen to vampire movies, 30 Days of Night will be right up your alley.  Staring Josh Hartnett (yeah, i thought the same thing…but he is surprisingly good in this thriller) and co-written by Steve Niles (who wrote the original comic book) the movie takes us to a small Alaskan town preparing for a month of darkness.  Hmm…sounds like a vampire’s wet dream.  Vivid and gory scenes contrast nicely with the white Alaskan landscape and the vampires themselves are portrayed as ruthless beasts eager to devour whatever flesh they can find.  I would put this up there with The Lost Boys for all time favorite vampire flicks.

    Rachel,
I don’t know why you would knock this movie just because it is associated with josh hartnett. sure his acting ability has not exactly caught up with his foxy good looks, but really how could they? personally i think he is just misunderstood, so fine….butterfly effect and 40 days and 40 nights were less than funny and or intelligent… but the kids these days…ie nora really thought lucky number sleven was a new age master piece! i heard it was compared to the usually suspects…i won’t brag and compare him to kevin spacey…but that’s the word on the beat, the kids beat that is (beat kids!).

Uh…yeah, Josh Hartnett wasn’t in Butterfly Effect…that was Ashton Kutcher. Jeez Ellen, keep your heart throbs straight. Also, I wasn’t bashing the movie, I quite enjoyed it. Hmm…lucky number sleven. I might have to look into that. I am willing to give him a chance, other former teen beat coverboys have gone on to have successful acting careers. Leonardo Dicaprio did a nice job of making a comeback after Titanic. I’m willing to give anyone a second chance.
