War kittens…

Alright, so there’s this somewhat new Capital One credit card commercial that I find absolutely hilarious that Kelly told me should be my first “post” on the bruce.  Just watch for when the creepy assistant says, “war kittens” and I think you’ll all know why….

Ninja Bear!

fox news blastI am probably butchering what I heard someone say (please correct me if I am wrong), but a huge criticism of Fox News is that they have a bias and report on what pertains to that bias.
Well if that is true, then they seem to be taking that to the extreme with FOXNews Blasts. Well this news is for the internet, and internet readers don’t have time to read, they just want the carnage.

They are one minute long reports that just show the three quick stories; nothing much about the story, only the interesting and line attention grabbing stuff. Every once in a while you actually might want to know more of the story, but then you get distracted by the next shot. This is like MAX-X on crack.

A great example of a video after the jump. (more…)

Lolla

DIOYYAnyone with plans to go to Lollapalooza this summer should be excited after the announcement of the official lineup. One band that looks like it could be fun to see is a band called Does It Offend You, Yeah?. First read about them at My Old Kentucky Blog, but fell in love with them from a fan-made video thats below. Come on, sometimes, the only reason you like a song is because of the video. Right? Check out their myspace or at hypemachine. The real video is here. (more…)

The Muslims

the muslimsThis band was featured on gorilla vs. bear not long ago and I have been enjoying them ever since.  When Stereogum put them as their new “Band To Watch“, I thought I should mention them before they became uncool.  Both those websites have prettier words to say about them than I can think of, so check them out there or at their myspace or on hypemachine.

Improv Everywhere

Improv Everywhere causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places,” says their website. Every new post is a new “mission” and the people that participate are “agents.” Sounds like something Joan would come up with. They have some great missions: one where two hundred people don’t where pants while they are on the train, one where a bunch of people dress up with blue shirts and khakis and go into a best buy to fuck with everybody, and one where they find a stranger in bar and pretend its his birthday. Here is a video from something they called a MP3 Experiment. The mission is to download an mp3, meet at a park and press play on that track all at the same moment. Its in four parts, here is the first.
