I’m Boss-y

Last week I caught up with the posts on Pitchfork and Stereogum, today I was reading Pretty Much Amazing (and others) and found some gems worth relaying:

• New Amy Winehouse?  Covering It’s My Party, originally by my girl, Leslie Gore, for a Quincy Jones covers album, Visions of Quincy (actually its Q: Soul Bossa Nostra)
• Here is some amazing Friday Funk.
• Kanye featuring Chris Rock?  Jay Electronica sampling John F. Kennedy?
• Mike says Rihanna can do no wrong.  Raining Men, really?  Two years ago it was Lil’ Wayne.  Last year it was Drake.  This year’s rapper that is featured on everyone’s songs is Nicki Minaj, and she can’t even help this.  Maybe I will wait till I listen to it ten more times or Mike gets it stuck in my head.
• More Cee Lo news with Gwyneth covering “Fuck Forget You” on Glee.
• I definitely enjoyed when “Neil Young” covered Fresh Prince on Jimmy Fallon, but Whip Your Hair with Bruce Springsteen is a good way to follow it up. The next step is “Neil Young” Fallon singing with the actual Neil Young.
