Back in 2015, I posted series of videos where Artie Lange and Norm Macdonald told stories of meeting Bob Eucker. The link to one of the oddest stories went dead shortly after it, but after searching for it again, I can report that I still can’t find the original story but Artie retold it on another podcast. The only difference is that in the original version I heard, the punchline has Sinatra’s goons saying “Now the bag’s on you, Drysdale!”.

On the topic of Sturgill covers, I thought I would keep it going because I got this song stuck in my head doing that last post.

Man, Sturgill can do a cover. And as good of a guitarist as he is, when he was touring with Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, the Estonian country shredding guitarist was always mentioned. This cover Listening to the Rain (originally by the Osborne Brothers) featured that guitarist pretty well.

Can’t really hit the high notes, but still a pretty good cover.

He can really do a cover. In addition to all the covers on his albums, I love his cover of I Never Go Around Mirrors.

In other Sturgill Simpson info, he did an extensive interview with Steven Hyden about frustrations with the music business and (this might be the writer speculating more than Sturgill) that he might not want to tour after this current tour.
