Two days ago I was recommended an episode of the podcast Reply All in which “a man in California is haunted by the memory of a pop song from his youth. He can remember the lyrics and the melody. But the song itself has vanished, completely scrubbed from the internet.” As a person that obsesses over finding names of songs and sample origins, I found it very relatable and entertaining.

More importantly, the show also inspired me to look up something that has been bothering me for a long time. I can’t tell you how many different ways of googling random sounds like “Ba Dum Dum Da Da Dum” it took to find “Minsky Pickup“, but was inspired by the show and found it yesterday:
