For all you avid readers of TheBruceBlog, you might remember a band called Nickle Eye. Tonight they are playing at the Beat Kitchen here in Chicago. Also on tap is a friend of a friend’s band, the Silents, opening up for them.
On the topic of the Strokes, via stereogum and rolling stone, the Strokes are due back into the studio in February to start recording another album according to Albert.
As many may know already, Kelly, Ellen and myself are going to Africa next week. I am moving out of my apartment and back to Edison Park. On Friday, we are throwing ourselves a going away party and I will be enjoying the last time I can drink at my favorite wrigleyville bar and be able to walk home. So if you haven’t found out about this already from the facebook, come down to the Blarney Stone (Clark and Newport) at around 10PM so we can drink a tray or two of $1 shots, play some nude-y photohunt, and bless the rains down in Africa.
Step up to the streets of Broadway and Belmont for the KTF Championship Battle of the Belt. Its a dance-off. Like Step Up 2, but for real-zies. Its at the Lakeshore Theatre at 10:30PM tonight and tickets are only $10.00. They are going to have it again in June, August, October, and December. I don’t know what else say; here is a sample video of it that was on their website.
There have been rumors and even some sporadic meetings ….but is official ….Margarita Club will meet this Thursday. Where you ask? At Caesar’s of course (half a block south of Belmont on Clark). If you can feel the warm glow of a neon pink sign that says “KILLER MARGARITAS” you are in the right place! If you cannot find people you know, check the basement. When? 9pm… it’s a touch late you’re right, but suck it up Sally and come anyway…i hear Caesar puts out and you can be home by 11:30! Why? Because the margaritas are best and Kelly is bringing a meat tenderizer as a gavel…what else are you really doing? As always the more the merrier…so bring a buddy! (more…)
