This is a lazy sunday post. So lazy that it is getting posted on a day late. I know Austin might not care about this, but I know some other people will find this funny/interesting/annoying. Via Awesomer:
After retiring from the music scene, Phil Collins took to the stage one more time, joining a group of kids from his sons’ middle school band. The tunes begin at about 2:15, with In the Air Tonight. and at 11:50 with Land of Confusion.
Assuming this is not all staged, outside of the screaming girl birthday party, do you think it mattered that it was Katy Perry who ruined their day to any other party? I could see the people at the petting zoo or the bar mitzvah still asking for their money back. Despite all that, this is a jam:

While it was funny to continually go over Emma Stone’s love of the Spice Girls, her knowledge of the raps on Fallon (even though lip-synched) has been the best appearance so far on the Spiderman 2 promotion circuit:
If you are going to do a cover of a song and release it, you should bring something to it rather than just playing a copy. Someone smarter than me told me that and it’s a good way to look at covers. I’m not a huge fan of changing lyrics so that different people are referenced, but the funk Billy Paul adds to this cover of Wings Let ‘Em In great. With so many covers of songs by a the Beatles or by a Beatle out there, it is nice choice too. Listen for yourself:

On the topic of Beatle’s covers where the artist brings something new to the song, that smarter person referenced above (Mike), showed me Isaac Haye’s cover of Something.
