    This past weekend was the Marquette water polo first trip of the season. Well in true form only four of us made the trek to Ames, Iowa. We were given the wrong directions to the wrong hotel by a royal idiot on our team and drove nine hours instead of five, ending up a mere 100 miles west of Ames. The upsides to the trip were the guys singing Kelly Clarkson’s hits, passing the National Hobo Convention, and of course quoting You Tube. Here are the hits from the weekend.

    Well since Rachel started the trend… Last week I got to see a ’21’ free sneak preview and let me tell you it was awesome! Before seeing it I was quite worried about the movie being a horrendous tribute to the book, ‘Bringing Down the House’, but even as a big fan of Ben Mezrich as an author I still loved the movie. Starring Jim Sturgess (Jude, Across the Universe), Kevin Spacey, and Kate Bosworth the trio does their best to live up to the characters in the book. Basically I loved it and the book is great so watch/read both. But if you are gonna read a Mezrich book, ‘Ugly Americans‘ is my personal favorite telling the story of one man who played games with the Japanese markets.

    Deoxyribonucleic Acid

            Thanks to a one Conrad Stonich I can remember what the acronym D.N. A. abbreviates but what the balls does that have to do with the Bruce? Well friend let me crack an egg of knowledge on you! While Brian is a lover of Hype Machine I have become an addict to Pandora a fantastic music website that plays god with your favorite music selections. Defined as “radio from the genome project” which essentially lets you type in a favorite artist, song, or album and POOF creates a personalized radio station with that band and others that match it containing the same musical elements. For example: on my first try I typed in the Detroit Cobras and for the entirety of this post has been listening too the Greenhornes, Tralala, Miss Derinnger, and Ronnie Spector all which have quite enjoyable. Obviously there is only one way to end this post… with a classic Stonich chemistry joke!

  • If IU had a theme song…


    So it is official Lizzy and I have decided on our IU theme song, Justice’s “We Are Your Friends”. It is definitely our favorite dancing songs and I sing to myself all the time at practice. Though we have taken this idea to an extreme and began developing an entire IU soundtrack. Other record hits include the classic Biz Markie “Just a Friend”, Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”, and Timbaland’s “Release” featuring Justin Timberlake. Clearly we like to dance but obviously Timbaland makes the hits. This originally started out as a post about how awesome Justice is so check them out. Also they will be playing in Chicago at the Rivera in March. I will not be going due to polo but envious because Lizzy probably will and so should you! They are said to be the next Daft Punk, silly I know but they still rock.
